Brisbane has some amazing pieces scattered through out it's streets. They take you out of your day for a moment, you appreciate the shape, form and materials and maybe try to decipher the meaning! I love that a different conversation is possibly happening with every passerby.
The photo above is a great example. It is located at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane, the result of a collaboration between artist Mandy Ridley and UAP. I was at a workshop several years ago where the artist talked about the creative process. I love that such a beautiful, decorative piece has a lot of meaning behind it!
